Diane Cornthwaite

Very busy, friendly, caring, conscientious, passionate about educating animal owners,  and funny.  Passionate about rehabilitation and performance of all animals. Have been qualified for 5 years as an integrated equine therapist. Collaborating with Angela Hall to produce Agricultural animal therapy courses, coming to the end of training to be a canine integrated therapist (exam pending).

  • Fully qualified and insured equine and agricultural integrated therapist based on the border between Lancashire and North Yorkshire.
  • I qualified in 2018 training with the Lantra approved Equine Massage Academy gaining a merit in the level 5 qualification.
  • I have completed multiple CPD courses since completing my initial qualification. This keeps me up to date with the latest techniques and constantly expands on my existing skills.
  • I am currently completing my canine integrated therapist training, I am due to complete this in 2022.

 

 

 

Lisa Knowles

Lisa helps with swimming the horses on a daily basis.

  • Lisa has been riding for 33 years, has had horses her whole life, and worked with horses since age 14.
  • She has successfully competed in all disciplines.
  • She is passionate about breeding, training, teaching and all aspects of equine problem solving which is particularly useful with some of our quirky or nervous clients whilst they gain confidence in the pool!!!

 

 

Jess Sowerbutts

Jess has worked at the centre for 4 years and oversees the day to day running of the yard. She is also the main point of contact for our clipping and trimming up services tailoring her work to your requests!

  • Jess has an extended level 3 diploma in equine management, HNC(Level) 4 in equine management and is studying HND(Level 5) alongside her work with us.
  • She has been riding since the age of 4.
  • and is the proud mum of a palomino gelding called Duggy!!!

 

Harry Marsden

Harry is our youngest team member and works on weekends and during the school holidays.

  • Harry has ridden since the age of 5.
  • He loves training as well as competing having ridden all sorts…. From sharp ponies to top-class natives and more recently competition stallions. His age does not reflect his level of knowledge! He’s often found advising or sharing stories with owners of his own experience on the subject they discussing!
  • His most proud moment to date is qualifying for and riding at The Royal International Horse show.

 

Sarah Brown

Sarah joins us at the pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays working around her busy life as a mother of 3 lovely boys!

  • Sarah has been riding since the age of 10.
  • Has BHS stage 2 and NVQS 1,2&3 qualifications.
  • Prior to becoming a mother, Sarah worked with Gmp mounted unit for 10 years!!
  • Alongside her busy schedule with the boys and working Sarah is also a horse & pet artist creating some lovely portraits including one that’s currently underway for one of our swimming clients!!!

 

Jessica Noble

Jess works at the pool on an ad hoc basis covering for the rest of our staff as required.

  • Jess’ full-time job is actually stud groom for Bowland Stud, run by Diane’s family.
  • She has a level 3 in horse care and management and horse care and riding.
  • Prior to moving back home to Lancashire Jess travelled Europe for 2 years grooming for an international rider.
  • She has backed and produced a couple of young horses, and will have a couple more to do in the coming years having bred some lovely sport horse foals from her mare.
